FoStM Class Rep Information

The FoStM and Class Representatives!

What is FoStM?

FoStM stands for the Friends of St Mary’s. This is the name for our schools PTA (Parent Teacher Association)

What does the FoStM do?

The FoStM work closely with the school and our aim is to provide fun events that everyone can enjoy. The aim is also to raise money to give children opportunities that they may not normally be given in school.

We have only been active since Feb 2017 and already through small events we have raised over £1,200. We have been able to donate £200 towards tablets, provide the school with a mini oven and order new water trays for outside sensory play.

I’m too busy to commit to the PTA.

Meetings are roughly once a month. We totally understand people work, have children and other commitments so we hold them on varying days and at different times (There is always tea/coffee and biscuits…sometimes wine!) Please feel free to bring children along too; they are more than welcome!

Throughout the year we need volunteers. At events, wrapping presents, making up bags of sweets, folding raffle tickets, helping at table sales after school…There are so many ways you can enrich your children’s school experience, no matter how much or little time you can spare it really does make a difference!

Never know, you may just enjoy it!

What is a Class Representative?

The idea is that each class has Parent Representatives who act as a point of contact for the PTA, Teacher and Parents. Your responsibilities would be keep parents informed of any upcoming class events and volunteering opportunities with the PTA.

Becoming a Class Rep gives you an active role in making the PTA successful. It can help you get to know parents across the whole school and is not too time consuming!

We don’t want your children’s class to miss out on the benefits of having a Rep and there is no limit to Reps per class…the more the merrier!
