"Inspiring All to Achieve"

Deanery Prayer Bulletin

The Theme for w/c 4th September 2017 is Arrival and Discipleship.

Reflection : The theme of the readings at Mass for Sunday 3rdSept center around those who follow Jesus. We realise that to follow him we must be committed to the message of love and stand up for what we believe and this will involve hard work, resilience and sacrifice. This week we are coming together at the start of another academic year across our deanery community. We come together as a new, dynamic and different community because the year 6 and year 11 students have moved onto their new schools and colleges but we welcome thenew Reception and Year 7 intake and also new staff. The second reading from St Paul tells us that we must work hard using our bodies and minds in order to discern and find out what God wants of us. We need to use all our gifts, talents and strengths in God’s service but we must also accept the temptations, doubts and failings we have at the same time: God knows that we are not “perfect saints!” I hopethat we are all returning to our schools feeling rested and refreshed and ready to journey through the new academic year with open minds andhearts, looking forward to new and exciting challenges of discovery. And let’s remember what Jesus said; “where two or three meet in my name, I shall be there with them.” As a Catholic Christian community may we pray together throughout the coming year knowing that God is always present and may we be shining examples of Christian love and action in all our schools. Welcome back to everyone.
As a member of our Catholic community at prayer, God is with you every day.

Prayer : Almighty God, as we begin this new school year, may we be welcoming to all we meet.
May we be encouraging to all our friends. Let friendship flourish and let learning fill each day.
Give us the strength to do our best. Give us the courage to succeed.
Be our guide in all we do and make this school acentre of learning and discovery too.   Amen

From the Bible :   “I urge you brothers and sisters...., that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect.”
Romans 12: 2
